The Art & Craft of Thai Sato

Nattachai
with Nattachai "Ob" Ungsriwong Owner & Brew Master, Devanom

Co-founded Devanom in 2014 with his brother Teerapat "Art" Ungsriwong, moving from award-winning IPAs into premium sato and mead. The brothers also built Deva Farm & Cafe, the first to cultivate fresh hops in Thailand’s tropical climate — and he campaigns to liberalise Thailand’s brewing laws for small producers.

Discover the heritage and craftsmanship behind Thai Sato, one of Thailand's oldest rice-fermented beverages. In this guided workshop, you'll explore the history, ingredients, and brewing techniques that make artisanal Sato unique, while learning how Devanom reimagines this traditional drink for today's craft beverage scene. The experience concludes with a guided tasting of three Devanom Sato labels, where you'll discover how different rice varieties, yeast strains, and fermentation methods create distinct aromas, textures, and flavour profiles.
